Quick Update: It is cycle day 31 and nary an O in sight. From Monday to Friday I managed to get a follicle from 10mm to 12mm. Dr. G. is going on vacation – but we are very lucky to live in a city with a shared on-call system so there is an on-call doctor even on Christmas day. So the plan is to start doing OPKS again on Monday (Christmas Eve) and call if we get a surge hopefully my ovary will get moving and we can do the deed in before the end of 2007.
Dear Ovaries,
I’ve been thinking lately that I hadn’t really talked to you before deciding to embark on this journey and as it impacts you fairly profoundly I thought I would let you know what is going on. You see, A and I are trying to make a family of three. I know you aren’t used to the limelight but really this is your chance. Here’s what I need from you, every 15 or so days I’ll need you to pop out a viable egg. Wow, I know that’s a big change. You’ve been taking your time spending up to 31. I know, I know you’ve told me before that you are a perfectionist and want to get it right. I know its hard work and I’m sorry to ask you to put in the overtime, but I would really appreciate it. In fact why don’t you pick the number of days (maybe lets keep it under 20) and try to do it on that day every month. It would really be helpful to know what is going on.
Our commitment to you:
- We will offer you a pick-me-up in the form of a medicine called Clomid – should make your job easier. It might get a little crowded in there, so feel free to grow them eggs fast and let them all go at once. (see above about the 15 day thing)
- I’ll be good to you – no bad foods and not too much wine.
- We will faithfully do the egg dance each try and help cheer you on.
- We will have a party in your honor if we get pregnant.
With your help – I bet we can get pregnant soon and then you will get a break. So grow them big and fast and often!
