Bra Anti-Shopping
So my breasts have entered holy guacamole stage and I have one bra left that fits. I’ve even out grown my sports bras as they feel like I have a boa constrictor around my body. So even though we had to go grocery shopping – I insisted we make one stop to see if I could find a bra for daytime and a bra for nighttime use. Well Tar.get is the only thing close to our grocery store so I decided to try it out… Ummm no. I did find a large large sports bra to use when I get home and at night but despite trying on 4 options did not find anything for daytime.
Underwire
I am a fan of the underwire. An average size C before, the underwire did nice things without adding too much. Well evidently, wearing an underwire is not recommended because they interfere with the milk ducts. Well I am in search of a second opinion, because I tried on three non-underwires and none of them fit nor did any of them look attractive. I know part of my problem was going to Tar.get and I am planning on going shopping for real later this week or weekend, but I’m not sure the no underwire is going to work for me.
Penduluums
We’ve been spending this week trying to manage the up and down emotions. I am a fiery ball of grumpiness with earth shattering sleepiness. But we have a baby picture that I framed and set on top of our dresser so we can see it at night. We are also edging closer to 8 weeks which puts us just 1 month away from the end of the first trimester. Suddenly, it is starting to become more real. I’ve been spending my lunch breaks surfing for nursery items and scavenging craigs.list. We’ve decided on yellow and A.’s mom will be making all of the crib fittings but I’ve been searching for ideas. Its such a strange up and down place.

I was a hardcore underwire fan before my daughter’s birth but if you find a GOOD nursing bra you really are ok without the underwire. You really don’t need to worry about it this early – you’re probably fine wearing an underwire through your 8th month, but after that, you may be risking a plugged duct, and believe me, you don’t want to go there.
Many women do go ahead and get nursing bras for pregnancy because they may fit after the baby’s born so you’ll get more use out of it. However, it’s hard to predict postpartum boob size, so don’t buy anything super-expensive now.

There’s no freaking way I’m giving up underwire, my friend. I mean, alcohol, caffeine, artificial sweeteners, seafood, lunch meat, soft cheeses, herbal tea, and OTC medications are one thing, but underwire is entirely another. They hurt way too bad to not have some support.

Wow, I totally didn’t know that about the underwire!! I love it too. Hope you find something soon that works well!! Also, holy awesome ultrasound picture batman. Those are my favourite things. So awesome that you got to see your little one – and way to go on 8 weeks…wow, time is FLYING!!!

Also, wanted to know if you guys are on the RLF email newsletter list (all of the lesbian happenings in Richmond emailed to you) and also, if you’d heard about the FOURTH FRIDAY FAMILY & FRIENDS events – started by some gay guys here in Richmond. We go to a restaurant (usually VERY nice) in the area and fill them up with gay folks! (There are over 400 people on the list) Pretty fun! We’ve had a blast and met some great people. Lots of men and women attend too…. with a range of ages. Shoot me an email if you want more info on any of that stuff…. maybe we’ll get a group of people together at the next event (a large table).
