19w 1d Adventures in Nursery Making

I can’t believe we are on the edge of 20 weeks.  It just feels so surreal.  It is also so very scary.  We have an ultrasound scheduled!!! May 27th.  Evidently this place books up so I will be 21 weeks and hopefully we will find out why suki-dot is so big.    I’ve found my energy disappearing the last few days.  I had a really busy week at work last week including a 12 hour day and I am finding that sleep alone doesn’t allow me to bounce back.  So I left work a bit early yesterday and headed home to ignore any household chore that needed to be done and instead to just lay in bed.  I’m truly not uncomfortable no real pains, I’m just tired.

Mother’s Day
We spent Mother’s Day weekend with A’s mom out of town in the mountains.  They have a great house that feels cabin-like.  She hadn’t seen my belly in about a month and since i’ve sprouted she was going crazy.  She and I went shopping for fabric for the nursery.  Those of you who read frequently will know that I posted some fabric awhile back… well when we ordered the swatch it was more clown like than retro…  So we found some new fabric…  it is yellow with red, blue, green, and orange little do-dadds.  We picked out a green and white polkadot and a solid orange as the contrasts.  So, A’s mom is ordering everything today.  She will be making the crib-skirt and a quilt and an organizer thingee, my grandmother is making the curtains and I’m hopeing to try to tie it all together with the other stuff.

1/2 Way

I started freaking out about all of the house projects that are not done yet that we have slated for before the babe arrives.  Here is the list:

- Create a Nursery?!?!
- Add pull down attic steps so we can store things (happening tomorrow)
- Fix the leak in the basement
- Add a railing on the basement steps (before i get too large)
- Fix the roof issue (its a small one)

Suki-Dot related projects
-Research Car seats and strollers and pick one!
- Find and assemble a crib and other furniture items
- Find more daycare options
- Figure out how much maternity leave will cost and if we can swing it
- create a new household budget with child care costs, diapers, and other stuff I don’t even know about yet figured in.
