I’m 36 weeks today and I think women who have been pregnant before it know. Over the past two days I’ve had some consoling winks and pats from these women as they ask, “dear, its towards the end isn’t it.” But on a normal person’s calendar 36 weeks is 9 months which is how long I learned in sex ed a pregnancy actually was supposed to last – I understand the science and why it is really 10 – but today I’m feeling jipped.
Some things I love
1. My wife – I’ve always loved her but lately she has stepped up and been a total trooper. I’m uncomfortable and require more help to do things like bend over and walk up stairs and put lotion on my own feet. I’m also a bit inconsolable at times and she is being really great.
2. Our Families – a new group in Richmond for GLBT families. We had our first meeting yesterday and it was really great to see families like ours. The ladies from Chronicles of Conception had the youngest kid there with 14 weeks to go – She and I were the only pregnant ones. The “outside” kids ranged from 6 months to 7 years old.
3. Our doulas – They called and want to go to the appointment on Thursday to meet with the doctor about the version consultation. And if/when we do the version – one of them will go. (**Yep, that’s right, we have two doulas. They are a team and we get them both for questions and prenatal and postpartum support. One will be with us for the delivery – however if both are available they will both come to the house for laboring at home… )
4. New stretchy pants – nothing fits and i don’t feel like wearing anything but i did get some new stretchy pants from tar.get in black and brown. I might just live in them until suki-dot comes out.
5. The middle name we have picked out for our baby girl.. the boy names have been decided for quite sometime, but the girl’s middle name is still up in the air… but we have a fantastic option that we are both falling in love with.
6. The nursery and the fact that it is 1 hour away from being done… well maybe a bit more than that. The clothes and sheets and blankets are washed and put away. The art needs to be hung but Amber made the frames already. She also finished the cute animals for the mobile – she just needs to put it together. Last item is the recently requested corner shelf. I decided I wanted amber to build one for this dead corner – so she is working on that now…. but for the most part is it now the happiest room in the house.
7. Our new stroller… it came from ama.zon on Friday. Its freaking cool. It lays down for infant carrying and it closes with two fingers… Can’t wait to use it.

Great post! You guys are just too cute. It is nearing the end girl – not much longer to go now and you are doing (and looking) great.
Stroller is adorable too!
It was so good seeing you both at Our Familes & the group meeting. Hope you enjoyed last night as much as we did (even though the room was an oven). xo
